Jeffrey A. Ribner, MD was honored with the Henry I. Fineberg Award for Distinguished Service to MSSNY.
Jeffrey A. Ribner, MD, Past President of the Broome County Medical Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) was given the Henry I. Fineberg Award at the 210th Annual MSSNY House of Delegates. The event was held on April 16, 2016 at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown, NY.
The Henry I. Fineberg Award for Distinguished Service to MSSNY was established in 1980 to honor Dr. Henry Irwin Fineberg for his many years of service to the society. Dr. Fineberg served as MSSNY Executive Vice President from 1961 to 1982, and had served as president from 1959 to 1960. In 1974 and 1975, Dr. Fineberg saw the Society through its first modern liability insurance crisis, and helped found the physican-owned Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company. Dr. Fineberg died in 1987.
Dr. Ribner has been a member of the Broome County Medical Society since 1974 and has served in many offices, including President in 1986-1987. He was President of MSSNY in 2003-2004. He retired from the practice of Neurology in 2015.
